When you install Omnitapps you automatically get the Omnitapps manual on your desktop.
You can also download the Omnitapps manual via this link.

When running Omnitapps4 for the first time there are two configurations to choose from. Select one in the drop-down menu in the configurator and click save+run to get started. The Default Configuration is full of examples of what you can do with Omnitapps4. The Template Configuration has a barebones version of each apps with tips and notes on how to configure the app and fill it with your own content.

There are two options.

1. If there is a keyboard connected to the PC press alt+c to switch to the configurator.

2. If there's no keyboard you can use your touchscreen; keep your finger pressed on either the lower left or upper right corner for 10 seconds until a popup appears. Enter the password using the pop-up keyboard (the default password is "asdf") and press continue. From here you can select to close Omnitapps4, shutdown the system, switch to the configurator or minimize the application.

Configurations built with a previous version of Omnitapps Composer, like Omnitapps Composer Advanced, will not automatically work in Omnitapps4.

Please contact us, we can help to convert the project for use in Omnitapps 4.

The data is stored in Omnitapps4 internally. There are two ways to collect the data.

1. Go to the Omnitapps Settings in the configurator and press "export databases", Omnitapps4 will now generate .csv files which contain the data. The files will be stored in the folder of the currently selected project, a pop up will inform you of the exact location.

2. If you have a internet connection and have set up an account at https://helios.omnitapps.com/ you can also take a look at the data online. Make sure "Enable cloud service" and "Enable Omnitapps Data" are both checked under Configuration Settings > Omnitapps cloud settings. Login to your account and from the dashboard you can navigate to "Analytics data" or "Requests" if applicable.

Not directly. If the presentation doesn't include animation, video or interaction (besides browsing through pages) you can try to export the presentation as a .pdf file which can be used in Omnitapps4.

Alternatively you can use the content from the presentation and use it to build a new one with the help of SwipeMediaMarker. This way it will be tailor-made for Omnitapps4 and you can make sure it uses all the advantages of Omnitapps4.

A virtual keyboard is not a built-in function of Chrome, so you'll have to install the virtual keyboard plugin, see settings>Extensions.

When a configuration uses Chrome as an external application it runs Chrome in incognito mode. Go to settings>Extensions and press "details" from the Virtual Keyboard plugin. Here switch on "Allow in incognito mode". The virtual keyboard will now work correctly.

This issue turns up when using an incorrect video format like .mov or when using a video compiled using an unsupported codec.

Omnitapps4 supports .mp4 files using a .h264 codec.

If this is the case there is probably something wrong with your background resolution. Make sure the image used as a background is at least the same resolution as the desktop it's running on.

A bigger background is possible, if you select "touch background" under the page's properties in "markers & images". Users will now be able to zoom in on the background. To make sure the markers are scaled proportionally, make sure each marker on the page has the "scale marker by background" option checked.

The email templates are handled in your online account at https://helios.omnitapps.com. Log in and from the dashboard, go to "Requests" and select the "Email templates" tab.

You can either edit existing email templates or create new ones. Here you can edit parameters like your (company) name and the email subject. If you are knowledgeable about HTML you can also make a custom email body.

After setting up a new template you can select it in Omnitapps when choosing a mail template, for example under BrochureRequest>Email form.

Omnitapps4 converts the .pdf file to a .swf file before it can use it. Most of the time this is handled correctly but when a .pdf file is complex with multiple layers and transparency this can be problematic. Try to generate a new, smaller .pdf file with rasterized layers (you can also try to use the "save as" function in Adobe Acrobat and select "reduce file size" in the following dialog box.
