Only possible if the computer identifies the camera as a webcam device. Your camera must be listed as a webcam at the “Devices and Printers” section.

No, this is not possible. However, if you are the developer of the Flash object you can call use to discuss a custom integration in Omnitapps.

In the Omnitapps configurator you can select a predefined localized keyboard. In Omnitapps 2.0 you can choose the following onscreen keyboards:

In the project folder you see a subfolder with the Photo frames. You can replace, or add extra Photo frames. (on a full HD system you need to create frames with 1920×1080 pixels dimensions). Photo frames need to be .PNG files with transparency.

You can install different Omnitapps versions on the same computer, but you can only license one of the versions. However, you can deactivate a licensed version and then activate another version.

It is not possible to open Powerpoint files directly through Omnitapps, but you can easily create a PDF or JPG file from your Powerpoint files. To do this, select the option “save as” in Powerpoint and select the desired file format.

Not natively, You can however run Windows 7, 8 or 10 via Bootcamp. This supports all omnitapps solutions.

We use Myriad Pro as standard font. But you can hide the question and also hide the standard answer buttons. In this case you need to put your own text in the background image and create your own buttons including the answer text. In our demo survey you see this at the question with the Statue of Liberty, and the Yes/No buttons.

Disable the post to facebook option in the configurator

Yes, it is possible to put Omnitapps in portrait orientation mode.

First you need to set Windows in the portrait orientation mode.

Remember, that when Omnitapps is in portrait mode, it is recommanded to choose the videowall or table mode in the Configurator – General – screen orientation. This way you disable the rotate functionality so that Omnitapps can’t be rotated upside down.

Also you have to be aware that the background images need to be changed to portrait and if you use Swipemediamarker application you will need to change the positions of the markers.

Yes. It is resolution independent. Even 1366×768 to 4K.

This depends on the configuration of your VoIP server. Omnitapps Reception only contacts your VoIP server and passes the number to be called. Please contact your VoIP server administrator.

To diasable the charmsbar in Omnitapps got to the Omnitapps settings and uncheck the box called: “Windows  Charmsbar enabled”.
After pressing save, restart the software and the charmsbar should not be active anymore.

No, the Omnitapps Reception calls “real” phone numbers via VoIP. So you configure regular phone numbers.

Omnitapps Digital Reception uses a line out (green socket) and a mic in (red socket) for the two way audio connection. If your computer does not have these sockets you can plug in a usb audio adapter that is widely available.

You need to open a licensed version of Omnitapps Composer. Go to the configurator and press the export button. Select the location where to save the configuration. Copy the configuration to the location where the configurations reside on the machine with the player software. By default this is \\my documents\Omnitapps Composer\

Rightclick on “My Computer” select “properties”. You see a list of your system specifications. You will see a item called “Pen & Touch”. There you should read something like this “Touch input available with xx touchpoints”. This indicates Windows native multitouch. Open the Windows application MS paint. You should be able to draw 2 simultaneous lines.

In the configurator (ALT+C) there is an option to import a CSV product overview.
This overview can only be imported successfully when it’s formatted correctly. Please refer to the user manual. Changes that need to be made after importing can be done at the settings for each individual product.

When you have a licensened Omnitapps, goto the configurator and click on the button “Deactivate License”. Then you also have the option to save the serial number in a text file on your desktop. Now you can re-use your license key to your new computer.

There is an extra background application that needs to be started together with Omnitapps Digital Reception. It’s a “connector” between the application and your VoIP server. This application is distributed with the reception installation.

It has 4 applications. Only the basic settings are available. You can duplicate them to as many you want.

The csv files can be exported by the export databases button within the configurator. It exports databases to csv (Comma Seperated Values) files that can be read by excel.

Omnitapps does get its touch input from the Windows operating system. This is called “Native touch”.
If you have a multitouch screen connected to your computer Windows must recognize this display as a multitouch input device.
Some (multitouch)touchscreens are installed by plugging in a USB port (Plug&Play) and some need to have a software driver installed.
(Please refer to your touchscreen manual)

When Omnitapps does not respond to your touch inputs: The touchscreen is not recognized by Windows as a native (multi)touchscreen.
You probably can’t draw lines in MS Paint. Please contact your touchscreen hardware supplier for a possible solution. You have a touchscreen that uses a special technique where the touchscreen software driver “talks” directly to your windows applications and simulates gestures as mouse events, or the software driver communicates with application by the TUIO protocol. This technique is not compatible with Omnitapps. It’s not windows 7 native touch compatible. Make sure you don’t have software drivers installed like from Wacom or other drawing tablet manufacturers. These “trick” windows believing the system is multitouch enabled.

This problem occurs when you are using mouse emulation. The problem can be solved by enabling the corner transformations.

You can re-install Omnitapps (your license data is still saved on the computer) and then deactivate again in the configurator.

If Windows has a multitouch screen device connected Omnitapps cannot be operated by a mouse device.
First disconnect you multitouch screen USB cable and restart Omnitapps. Note: Even when your multitouchscreen is disconnected it is possible that the installed software driver “tells” windows that it is still multitouch enabled.

Rightclick on “My Computer” select “properties”. You see a list of your system specifications. You will see an item called “Pen & Touch”. There you should read something like this “Touch input available with xx touchpoints”. This indicates Windows native multitouch. If this message is still displayed you have to shut down, or uninstall the multitouch software driver before you can operate Omnitapps with a mouse device.

You need to use a video with a H264 codec. (.mp4 / .mov) Square pixel, 16:9 when use at full hd.
You do not need to use Full HD (1080p) video. 720P will do fine.

At this time we do not recommend Windows-10 as operating system with Omnitapps software when you use multiple fingers (or multiple users) to operate the software. As soon as the multitouch SDK for Windows-10 is ready we will update Omnitapps as well.

In Omnitapps Showcase there is a non removable exit button.

In Omnitapps Composer you can configure this button.

This is a strange behavior when working on a computer with a touch-screen and the mouse emulation enabled.

To resolve this problem you have to disable mouse emulation in the configurator.

First you need to be sure that your multitouch works. This can be checked in e.g.  Microsoft paint.

If it does not work and you are sure that you have a mulitouch screen, you can check the Pen and Touch settings in the config panel of Windows. In here you need to be sure that multitouch is enabled.

If Multitouch does work in paint you need to be sure that you have mouse emulation is disabled in the configurator. If you have to change the mouse emulation setting, need to restart Omnitapps.

Omnitapps Survey has a predefined answer button area that at some point “ is full “.
Your text size maybe too large, you maybe have to many answers (you need to split them in separate pages), Your answer text for each button is too long. (you need to shorten your answers)

Most common issues are a missing Facebook Token, check the Facebook Token(code), or the system has no internet connection.

Configurations need to be exported from a licensed version of Omnitapps Composer to make this message disappear. You can view all non-exported configurations in the Omnitapps Player, but they will always have this message.

The  Selector is not a webshop. There is no payment gateway. However, you can display a QR code at each product which scanned by the users mobile device show the product in your exciting online webshop.

The login settings in the configurator for request.omnitapps.com are independent for each computer.
You need to set the login details at each Omnitapps Lobby computer. (it’s not saved in your configuration export)
Also check if all computers are connected to the internet.

You need to verify your VoIP server allows the Digital Reception to call those numbers. Maybe the VoIP server has restrictions or internal rules. Please contact your VoIP server administrator.

There are several possibilities when this message appears.

Most likely is some files are damaged due to a power fail. This might happen on trade shows where power is shut off without warning.

A good starting point is repair these files is reinstalling the original program on the machine. All necessary files will be restored.

If the problem remains the custom configuration files might also be damaged.  Replace the project.xml in the folder of each configuration with the original once will solve this issue. Always make sure you have backups of your configurations to make sure you can fix these kind of problems.

 

In the Windows audio settings you can set the default recording and playback device.

Omnitapps has a built-in onscreen keyboard, but Windows also has a onscreen keyboard. Bring up the Windows Onscreen keyboard, then select “Input Panel Settings” , Deselect “for touch input, show the icon next to the textbox” and De-select “Use the input panel tab”. Click OK.

Omnitapps Digital Reception has standard functionality to select a company from a dropdown menu.

The player software is created to run exported configurations by a licensed Composer software suite.
If you have multiple systems that need to run a configuration you can use a player on each machine to run this configuration.

When you create a new configuration with the configurator [CREATE] button a new folder is created. Omnitapps cannot work if every setting would be left blank. That’s why every new configuration is filled with Default content. This is a good starting point for you to begin.

 

This occurs when Windows wants the focus. You can lock the taskbar or hide the taskbar to resolve this behavior.

Omnitapps uses Acrobat Reader X for print jobs. When you never used this program before you have to open the Acrobat Reader and accept their license agreement first. You can find Acrobat Reader in your programs list.
After accepting the Adobe license agreement you can close the Reader and start using Omnitapps again.

Also make sure you the printer you have selected as default is connected and ready to print

This can have several causes. In basic Omnitapps cannot read the description file that belongs to that application. This can be caused by sudden power loss of the computer, misconfiguration, manual editing of the XML description file (went wrong) or when you made changes to the application folder structure. Omnitapps replaces an application when it is missing. You can delete the application folder which has the white screen in your //my documents/omnitapps composer/yourprojectname folder (Never delete anything in the program files folder) When Omnitapps is restarted it detects the missing application and copies a new one from its own storage. It is filled with default content.

You also see white screens when did not use the EXPORT function in the configurator to transfer content from computer 1 to computer 2. On computer 1 all application description files (XML) have paths that point to local folders of computer 1. When you just copy your project folder to computer 2 all paths are problably wrong. By using the EXPORT function, Omnitapps makes a copy of the current project folder and modifies those unique paths that belong to computer 1.

This is a rare behavior and only happens on systems that had a previous Beta version of Omnitapps or happens when there was previous Omnitapps version that was uninstalled incorrectly. Uninstall Omnitapps again, and also delete all Omnivision and Omnitapps folders in //My documents/ and //c:/program files/ (32bit Windows os) //c:/program files(X86) (64 bit Windows os) Then reinstall the latest version of Omnitapps. Don’t forget to backup your own project folders because with this method the whole projects folder is deleted.

Omnitapps Reception makes use of the standard audio line- and microphone connections. In Windows audio settings you can set the volume for record and playback volume.

You can export the survey data to a CSV file by going to the configurator (ALT+C) and then press the “Export Databases” button. The created CSV files will be stored in your project folder.

All Omnitapps Survey data can also be sent to your personal online account at request.omnitapps.com.

First make sure you are connected to internet. Then make sure you entered the whole key, thus including the dashes “-“. Notice that the license key is Caps sensitive. You can also copy/paste your code into the textfield. When it keeps rejecting, please contact us to check our activation server (it’s possible that there was already another activation before on this machine).

Photo frames need to have transparency in the middle for the “see through” effect.
Your Photo frames need to be saved as PNG file. The best program to create such frames is Photoshop.

  • You did not place the videos in the right folder. Check the configurator what video folder you have chosen.
  • Your video is not a Omnitapps compatible video file. Omnitapps can handle videos that are rendered with a H264 codec, usually resulting in .MOV, .FLV, .F4V or .MP4 files. More info about H264 video

When Omnitapps first starts an application that has PDF files to be viewed, it converts the PDF file into another object to be used in Omnitapps. You don’t see this process happening, but you can however notice that it takes some time before a PDF thumbnail and file a visible in the application. When you have a lot of PDF files (e.g. OmniRequest) it takes some time to convert all PDF files. This process only takes place once.

You can initiate this process als from the configurator. By doing this once all pdfs in the configuration will be converted and you are ready to go.

Omnitapps Professional until January 1 2015 and Launcher will still be available. Omnitapps Desktop is not available anymore.
